City Hall Rainbow

Was chasing this rainbow down the 5 freeway from Burbank to downtown. Had about 2 minutes to photograph it before the setting sun disappeared behind the clouds. Snapped off 5 frames and captured the bow just the behind LA City Hall building.

Super Bloom in Southern California

Californian Poppies and various other wildflowers begin to bloom near Lake Elsinore California. The super bloom was brought on by heavy winter rains. The rest of California should start blooming with a bounty of wildflowers in a week or two.
The Golden Poppy is California's state flower.

L.A. Eagles

Visited a bald eagle's nest in the mountains above Los Angeles. Watched as the male swooped in with a meal for his mate and two young chicks. Always exciting to see these majestic birds in our local mountains.

Once a Year

Here's my once a year photo of downtown Los Angeles with the snow-covered San Gabriel mountain range. So many elements must come together to get this photo, wind direction, no clouds, no haze, and I have to be free that day to get the photo.

Till next year.

My Top 10 Photos of 2018

I put together this collection of 10 of images I took this year. Was going to do a list of 35, but paired it down to just 10. Probably should have done a list of 50, but thought 10 is a good number. Photographed hundreds of thousands of images this year, these 10 mean a lot to me even though they may not be my best photographs. Click on the images to see them larger.
Hope you like them.
May 2019 be an even better year for all of us.
